Happy New Year

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to attend the AAUW’s $tart $mart workshop and facilitator training in Indianapolis with Nina Corder (new branch member) and Jeff Witt (UT’s Eberly Center /Diversity & Inclusion).  Your Branch board is excited to work with the Eberly Center to offer $tart $mart to area students at UT this spring  and in the future.  Teaching “soon to be grads” salary negotiation skills.  Remember when you graduated and got your first job?  Do you know whether or not you received a fair salary?  Equal to the men in your field?  Luckily, in this day and age women, and men, can easily research the compensation for their field.  And with the skills learned in the $tart $mart workshops, one can confidently negotiate for the salary and benefits that match their education and experience. You are welcome to watch for the programs at UT and come to see what $tart $mart is all about.

So much more is planned, mark your calendars and we will see you at the next Event!    -Mickey Radtkin

Welcome to a
New Program Year

2014-2015 the best is yet to come!

And what a year it is shaping up to be, every year is just getting better and better.  There are a lot of great things happening in the Toledo area promoting women and girls.  As your president I represent AAUW everywhere! Looking to partner with other organizations on events to promote our mission.  I welcome you to join me, or if you have a group that shares the vision of empowering women and girls lets talk.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the fall kick-off.
