Mary Louise Glen, Toledo, OH, passed away on January 6, 2015. She was 84.
Born in Detroit, MI, on May 15, 1930, Mary Louise graduated from Cass Technical High School and then Wayne State University. She proceeded to devote her professional life to education, first teaching reading to elementary school students and later spending four decades as a professor at the University of Toledo. There she pioneered in the teaching of courses on women’s roles in American life and marriage and the family.
Barbara Brooks Murray earned two degrees: one in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, and the other in Social Work from the University of Toledo.
She was active in Mobile Meals and her sorority Alpha Xi Delta. She was an avid supporter of the Toledo Museum of Art, Crosby Gardens, and the Toledo Zoo. Recently, she led the Shakespeare study group for Toledo Branch AAUW. She also enjoyed meeting with her book group and playing bridge. –from The Blade, Nov. 21, 2013
